PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of producing moving videos with the movement of object not becoming discontinuous, even if a still image is imaged during imaging of video image. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a imaging section, a section for controlling the imaging section to image a video image including a plurality of frame images, a section for controlling the imaging section to image a still image at a timing of the imaging section imaging one frame image and a next frame image, and an alternative image forming section for forming a frame image at the timing of the imaging section for imaging a still image, by compositing a still image imaged at the imaging section and at least one of a pre-frame image, i.e. a frame image imaged at the imaging section prior to that still image and a post-frame image, i.e. a frame image imaged at the imaging section following that still image.
