PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straining cooking utensil for a microwave oven which can do the straining work of vegetables and so on safely and easily. SOLUTION: An appropriate amount of water is added to the interior of an outer pan (1) provided with a check valve (3) for releasing vapor on a side face, and then a receiving pan (2) on which a straining net 4 is installed in its upper part is placed in the outer pan (1). After putting vegetables and the like to cook on the straining net 4, an elastic heat-resistant lid (5) is placed on the outer pan (1) to cover the whole. Thus, by releasing vapor produced when the vegetables and the like are cooked in the microwave oven out of a container, pressure is decreased while the inside temperature of the container drops after cooking. Using the phenomenon that the elastic heat-resistant lid 5 placed on the upper part of the container is sucked, heated and softened vegetables and the like are pressed against the straining net 4 by the heat-resistant lid 5 to strain.
