发明名称 Improvements relating to anti-dazzle lamps for motor vehicles and the like
摘要
372,285. Vehicle headlamps. HARLEY, M. C., 20, High Street, Notting Hill Gate, London. Feb. 3, 1931, Nos. 39032/30 and 5949/31. [Class 75 (ii).] Lantern fronts.-In a vehicle headlamp in which a parallel beam of light is produced, the rays situated on one side of a plane through the axis of the beam are deflected relative to the plane and dispersed laterally of it by refractive means, and the other half of the beam is unrefracted. The upper half of the front glass comprises a deflector d, which refracts the light downwardly, and a diffuser e, which disperses the light laterally. The deflector may be a right-angled prism, as shown, or have its two large faces at equal angles, or have one or both of its faces concavely curved, or have one or both sides formed concave or convex by having a succession of two or more surfaces at different angles. The diffuser e has vertical ribs e<1 >formed by semi-cylindrical grooves, or by flat facets arranged either at equal angles or as shown in Fig. 8. A plain glass c forms the lower half of the front glass. The three parts c, d, e may be cemented or otherwise held together, or may be formed in one piece. The bulb b has a straight filament lying parallel to the diameter separating the prismatic elements d, e from the plain glass c, and passes through the focus of the parabolic reflector a. In a modification, the prismatic elements may be in the lower half and the plain glass in the upper.
