A cab roof member 10B, for a cab (1) (figure 1 - not shown), comprises a foam 11 made by foaming a plastic material in which a net-like or fabric-like reinforcing material 13 consisting of a high-strength organic fiber is included, so that the operator can be protected from falling objects. Additionally, a sound absorption layer 19 and a mould coating layer 18 are integral with the foam 11. The layer 18 is positioned on the ceiling face 17 of the roof member 10B and the layer 19 is formed on the side of the inner face of layer 18. The cab roof member 10B for a work machine is provided with improved measures for protecting the operator and insulating noise and has improved economical efficiency and a good design.
