<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of distributing contents from a distribution server to a portable information terminal by sectioning the contents by portions according to free memory capacity of a contents area of the portable information terminal, and realizing proper charging processing according to various forms of distribution. <P>SOLUTION: An information distribution request including identification information of a distribution requesting origin, distributed information identification information for identifying information the distribution of which is requested and the free capacity of a memory area for storing the distributed data of the memory for data at the point of time is transmitted from the portable information terminal to the information distribution server device. The information distribution server device generates transmitted information classifications to the portable information terminal by sectioning the distributed information to be specified by the distributed information identification information from the portable information terminal so that it conforms to the free capacity and transmits the transmitted information classifications to the portable information terminal.
