A bed 1 has a frame 3 in which there is a support 5 in the form of a rigid plate, which is supported by the frame 3. There are three sacks 7 on the support 5, which are filled with visco-elastic foam. There is a mattress 9 above the sacks 7. The mattress 9 is kept apart from the sacks 7 by sprung spacing elements 11 placed between the sacks and the mattress. The spacing elements 11 are detachable from a flexible lattice element 13. The lattice element 13 has flexible lattice bridges 13a, which are fastened together at lattice points 13b, in which there are rectangular lattice openings 13c between the lattice bridges. The lattice element 13 with the spacing elements 11 present thereon adapts to the body shape of a person in both the left-right and the bottom-top direction of the person.
