<p>The present invention provides a bag (110) comprising a plastic bag body having two overlaying layers of film, a heat sealed bottom and an open top end, and a vertically disposed tie strip (116) used to close the opening of the bag (114). The tie strip (116) has its lower end with perforations (118) secured to the bag (110) at the bottom of the bag and its upper end secured by an intermittent weld (122) to the first layer of film adjacent the open top. The intermittent weld (122) further detachably secures the first layer of film to the second layer of film. After separating the perforations (118), the portion of the tie strip secured adjacent the bag opening (114) is of sufficient length to be used to wrap around and close the bag (110).</p> |
