<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining a high cell number in a culture solution of a lactic acid bacterium and adding inorganic salts as an additive in culturing the lactic acid bacterium. <P>SOLUTION: A method for culturing so as to obtain the high cell number of the lactic acid bacterium comprises carrying out the culturing in the culture solution containing magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate or hydrotalcite in various nutrient sources. A method for producing lactic acid bacterium powder is carried out as follows. The culturing is performed by the method for culturing and an acid is subsequently added to a culture medium to adjust the pH to 4-6. The carbonate is dissolved and the lactic acid bacterial cell is then separated from the culture medium, recovered and freeze- and vacuum-dried. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
