<PICT:0383510/IV/1> <PICT:0383510/IV/2> <PICT:0383510/IV/3> For the washing and other wet treatment of artificial silk, ribbons, &c. upon spinning bobbins or in spinning pots, the arrangement is such that the bobbins or pots e, Figs. 2 and 3, are immersed in the treatment liquid contained in a vessel n whilst the liquid, as from an overhead receptacle or trough a, is supplied to the interior of the bobbins or cakes so that it flows outwardly through the thread layers. The liquid may be delivered to the upper end of the bobbin or spinning pot, or to the lower end of the bobbin as shown in Fig. 2, the bobbin being then sealed at the upper end. To protect the inner thread layers of the cakes, a preferably perforated sleeve is mounted in the interior. The bobbins may be mounted as a vertical tier, and similarly the spinning pots as shown in Fig. 5, packing washers j being arranged p between the pots, and perforations i being provided to allow for the passage of liquid to all members of the pile, the perforations in the lowest pot being closed by a rubber plate k. The receptacle a is placed at the most suitable height, and the level of the liquid in the vessel n is adjusted by the hinged tube g.
