Method involves structuring HTML page having visible and invisible frame attached to display page and data page respectively. Pages are downloaded, with display page having variable K, first script controlling downloading of data page, and second script for comparing instant value of variable K with its initial value. For each execution of second script, instant and initial values of variable K are compared to test state of network connection. If instant and initial values of variable K are equal, absence of network connection is detected. If different, network connection is present.
