A shot control hosel (10) is disclosed for customizing golf clubs. The disclosed embodiments provide a set of hosels (10c, 10d, 10e), each hosel having a conical body (12). The body has a central axis, a top portion (16) and a bottom portion (14). A cylindrical opening (23) extends from the top portion to the bottom portion and is adapted to accommodate a golf club shaft (34). A flange (21) may be provided on the body and may be adapted to engage a notch (32) within a bore of a golf club head. A resilient barb (18) on the smaller of the top portion and the bottom portion is provided to secure the hosel within the bore.
