The method and the machine are intended for use in metal working. The machine consists of a positioning unit (23) of a prefabricated can head (12), a mechanism (1) for feeding band foil (2) to a fixed hollow mandrel (3), a foil bending mechanism (4), and a pressure welding unit (5). A transport mechanism (7) is in a work seat (81). The head (12) is positioned in the shaping unit (9m). In the mandrel (3) there is axially placed a mobile mandrel (13) with a work end face (14) negatively to the inner surface of the head (12). Under the seat (81), a unit (10) positioned coaxially to the mandrels (3 and 13). Clamps (15) are arranged laterally to the mandrel (3) at the end of the mandrel (13). Foil is placed between the mandrel (3) and a stop (18).The slot (20) of the stop (18) serves as a contact between the mechanism (5) and the foil ends (6). |
