The telescopic system for vehicle drive shafts comprises an outer tube (2), forming part of the shaft, whose end (12) is of smaller diameter and fits over a narrower inner tube (14). The two sections of the outer tube are connected by a section (18) which ruptures in a collision, allowing the shaft to telescope. An independent claim is included for an articulated shaft incorporating the telescopic system.
