A connecting device for transceiving data in a portable terminal is provided to use an optical cable to transmit or receive an optical signal in an optical transceiving module installed on a main board and a slave board, thereby smoothly transceiving high-speed data traffic. A connecting device for transceiving data in a portable terminal comprises optical transceiving modules(36,26) respectively installed on a main board(35) and a slave board(25) wherein the optical transceiving modules(36,26) use an optical cable(40) for transmitting or receiving an optical signal. The optical transceiving modules(36,26) include a light source installed on the main board and the salve board, a modulator for modulating light into an electric data signal, and an optical receiver, installed at one side of the modulator, for converting the received light into an electric signal.
