Disclosed is a composition for treatment of one or more side effects of statin therapy comprising uridine, a biological precursor or derivative of uridine derived from or converted to uridine in vivo in one to four steps or a salt, ester or tautomer thereof in association with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable additives and at least one statin. Also disclosed is the use of uridine, a biological precursor or derivative of uridine derived from or converted to uridine in vivo in one to four steps or a salt, ester or tautomer thereof in preparation of a medicament for treatment of one or more side effects of statin therapy.
