The method involves preparing a liquid crystal cell comprising of two substrates (100, 200), a liquid crystal layer formed between the substrates, and a sealant (400) formed in the periphery of the liquid crystal layer formed between the two substrates. An amount of liquid crystal provided to the inside of liquid crystal cell is measured and an inlet for the liquid crystal (410) is formed in the sealant of the liquid crystal cell. The amount of the liquid crystal formed in the cell is regulated by discharging the liquid crystal through the inlet and sealing the inlet. An independent claim is also included for a liquid crystal display device.
