<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein when performing the control of an induction machine by using a current control means, a voltage command sent from the current control means becomes excessively large, when the current information of the induction machine is lost due to the reason of failure or the like of a current detector, thus causing the element breakage of a power converter and the thermal breakage of the induction machine. <P>SOLUTION: This induction machine control device is added with: a changeover command creation means that inputs an operation flag and outputs a changeover flag; a test command creation means that outputs a test current command and a test frequency command; a changeover means that inputs a torque control current command, a torque control frequency command, the test current command, the test frequency command, and the changeover flag, and outputs a changeover current command and a changeover frequency command; and a protection detection means that inputs the voltage command and the changeover flag, and outputs a protection generation flag.
