摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform measurement with high precision even when a distance to be measured becomes nearly equal to distance resolution. SOLUTION: A control section 58 selects either a measurement mode or a hold mode. A transmitting section 14, in the measurement mode, generates a signal of which the frequency fluctuates as time passes and transmits the generated signal. A receiving section 16 receives a signal reflected by a target. A fourth mixer 44 performs quadrature detection on the received signal by a signal generated by the transmitting section 14 at the present timing. A processing section 56 performs correction on the signal subjected to quadrature detection by a signal held in advance and specifies a distance to the target on the basis of frequency components contained in the corrected signal. The transmitting section 14, in the hold mode, ceases the transmission of the generated signal, while generating the signal of which the frequency fluctuates as time passes.
