PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue laser diode which can operate continuously at room temperature. SOLUTION: A semiconductor element where, movement of carriers into an active region 2 is improved by forming a mini band 18 inside a superlattice region 13 having laminated patterns of a first and second semiconductors. The film thickness of a pattern laminated layer is typically smaller than 25 nm. The minimum energy level 21 of the mini band 18 is equal to or greater than the energy level of a guiding region 3 between the active region 2 and the superlattice region 13.
