PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of executing processing in line with the intention of a signer when verifying an electronic signature of an electronic document with the electronic signature attached thereto and to provide a technology of generating image data with the electronic signature attached thereto to which the processing in line with the intention of the signer can be applied. SOLUTION: This image processing method includes: a signature generating step of generating the electronic signature of the image data; an acquisition step of acquiring control information for controlling operations of the image data on the basis of a result of verifying the electronic signature; and a storage step of storing the image data, the electronic signature, and the control information in cross reference with each other; and furthermore a control step of controlling the operations of the image data on the basis of the result of verifying the electronic signature and the control information.
