PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device provided with a function by which a user can find the portion of a scratch or a stain when there is the scratch or the stain on the recording surface of an optical disk. SOLUTION: When an error occurs during reproduction, the number of times of errors at the same address on the optical disk is counted. When it is judged that the number of times of the errors is a prescribed number of times or more, address information indicating the address where the errors are generated for the prescribed number of times or more is preserved in a memory. Then, a radius position conversion equation is read from a nonvolatile memory, the address information is read from the memory, the address indicated by the address information is substituted in the radius position conversion equation, and the radius position of the error generation part is calculated. Thereafter, the information of the calculated radius position of the error generation part is preserved in the memory. After the reproduction is ended, the information of the radius position is read from the memory, and the radius position is notified by displaying an explanatory sentence by characters or/and the image of the optical disk at a display device.
