PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which prevents generation of wrinkles without spoiling toner fixability when a toner image is fixed to an envelope-like recording material. SOLUTION: The fixing device having a heating member 21 and a pressurization member 22 pressure welded by pressurization means 31, 34, sandwiches the recording material carrying the toner image between the heating member and a nip N of the pressurization member, conveys the recording material to fix the toner image by heat and pressurization. The fixing device has: a cam member 37 having a first phase (a), a second phase (b) and a third phase (c); and a cam member control means 100/M2 for changing nip pressure between the heating member and the pressurization member by phase switching to the pressurization means by controlling a rotational angle of the cam member.
