PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image carrier etc., which are reduced in surface deterioration, suppresses the chemical deterioration of the surface due to proximity display device, are free from image quality deterioration by the repeated use of a photoreceptor, and are capable of stably outputting the high quality image excellent in wear resistance and image quality stability for a long period. SOLUTION: The electrostatic latent image carrier is used in image formation using an electrostatic charger for electrostatically charging the surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier by utilizing the discharge generated by applying a voltage superposed with an AC component on a DC component, and has at least a photosensitive layer and a surface layer in this order on a support, in which the surface layer contains a polycondensation product of an organic silicon compound expressed by the following general formula (1). Here, the formula (1) is R<SB>n</SB>-Si(Z)<SB>4-n</SB>; where R denotes an organic group; Z denotes either of a hydroxyl group and a hydrolyzable group; n denotes an integer from 0 to 3.
