PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent liquid detergent using 10-30 wt.% L-arginine salt of a fatty acid as a single cleansing component and comprising 20-60 wt.% polyhydric alcohol, which is excellent in aging stability and in the feeling upon use and is low in the irritation to skin or ocular secretion. SOLUTION: The transparent liquid detergent containing 10-30 wt.% L-arginine salt of a fatty acid and 20-60 wt.% polyhydric alcohol is compounded with an ascorbic acid or a salt thereof, to thereby obtain a transparent liquid detergent which is excellent in aging stability and feeling upon use and low in the irritation to skin and ocular secretion.
