PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type game machine capable of easily preventing a cheating action without damaging the reliability of an operation. SOLUTION: Power to be supplied to a detection sensor for detecting that a variation start member for starting the variable display of patterns is operated is supplied in the state of being varied to the power capable of operating the detection sensor and the power incapable of operating it. Then, a random number is acquired on the basis of obtained detection signals and a game role is drawn. In such a manner, since the detection signals are not output when the detection sensor is not operated when the variation start member is operated, the time after the variation start member is operated until the detection signals are output can be dispersed. Thus, it becomes possible to effectively prevent the cheating action of operating the variation start member in synchronism with the updating cycle of the random number by using a special implement, making the detection signal output in the cycle of updating the random number, winning the game role and making a large amount of game media put out.
