PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-balloon type endoscope apparatus capable of preventing an insertion assisting appliance from rubbing a subject. SOLUTION: This endoscope apparatus is provided with an endoscope 10 installed with an inflatable/deflatable first balloon 60 around the outer circumference at the distal end part of an insertion tube 12, the tubular insertion assisting appliance 70 allowing the insertion of the insertion tube 12, guiding it to a body cavity and installed with an inflatable/deflatable second balloon 80 around the outer circumference of the distal end part, a protection tube 150 covering over the insertion assisting appliance 70, and a fixing means fixing the protection tube 150 to the subject.
