PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture frame without using a transparent panel in order to store a work by exposing the surface while stabilizing the work and allowing free replacement of the work. SOLUTION: The picture frame 1 for exposing the surface comprises a rectangular frame 2, a mat 3 extended toward an inner periphery of the frame 2 so as to be integral with the surface of the frame 2, and a back lid 4 having the height smaller than the inside height of the frame 2 and arranged so as to overlap a back face of the mat 3 when it is retained in the frame 2 for catching the work 8 along with the mat 3.
