PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester sufficiently ensuring performances of removing rachis-branches and having good harvesting efficiency. SOLUTION: The combine harvester (100) is designed to return tailings after threshing to the front of a screw rotor 24 with a tailing returning apparatus 43. In the combine harvester, the tailing returning apparatus 43 is obtained by making the starting end of a transverse-feeding returning conveyor 78 communicate with the terminal end of a longitudinal-feeding returning conveyor 77 and the tailings are returned from the terminal end of the transverse-feeding returning conveyor 78 to a threshing apparatus 20.
