The instrument has a flavoring substance, which is discharged in an oral cavity of patients during active operation of the instrument, so that the patients can smell and taste. The substance is chemically or adhesively adhered at a surface of a drilling, burring or compositing attachment, so that the substance is discharged and held little by little by abrasion of a dental prosthesis material e.g. plastic, during drilling or burring.
