PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select an application for executing a process requested by a user.

SOLUTION: This application selection device is provided with: a button class for accepting depression of buttons indicating document operations or document form operations; an application class for identifying an application actually carrying out a process; and a document operation application class for selecting an application indicated by the application class based on a combination of document operations related to the depressed buttons or a document form operation application class for selecting an application indicated by the application class based on a combination of document form operations related to the depressed buttons.
