PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of quickly starting read and write from/to a photosensitive recording medium after a cartridge is loaded, and a cartridge for the photosensitive recording medium used for the recorder. SOLUTION: The recorder comprises: a shutter opening and closing mechanism 80 for sliding the shutter of the cartridge loaded from a loading port having an opening and closing lid; a recording and reproducing device part 95 for performing read and write from/to a recording disk inside the cartridge in the state of sliding the shutter and opening the opening of a cartridge main body; a control part 91 for controlling them; and a detection sensor 88 for detecting the entry of a shielding plate part formed around the opening and closing lid to a groove part formed around the loading port when closing the loading port by the opening and closing lid. When closing the loading port by the opening and closing lid, the control part 91 drives the shutter opening and closing mechanism 80 in response to the transmission of detection signals from the detection sensor 88 and a shutter opening operation of opening the shutter of the cartridge is started before the closure of the opening and closing lid.
