PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of improving detection accuracy of tracking positional shift. SOLUTION: The optical disk device detecting information recorded on a rotating optical disk using laser light to reproduce data includes a first light receiving element and a second light receiving element dividing and detecting reflected or transmitted light from the optical disk, detects phase difference between the two signals output from the light receiving elements, integrates the phase difference signal and performs tracking control on the basis of the integrated signal. The optical disk device includes a limiting means limiting the signals supplied from the light receiving elements for phase difference detection, particularly the signals having a short data length according to the detection state of the signals obtained from the optical disk.
