PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asbestos slate structure prevented from scattering asbestos in the neighborhood without being influenced by deterioration of the surface, and an asbestos slate coating method. SOLUTION: The top face and the bottom face of an asbestos slate material 11 is sandwiched from the top and the bottom between steel plates 12 having the shape approximately same as that of the slate material 11 with an adhesive 13 interposed so that asbestos is inhibited from scattering to the neighborhood due to deterioration of the surface. In a building, the possibility of scattering becomes very small. Face rigidity is increased by employing the sandwich structure so that an accident of causing the foot to break through the slate structure during work can be avoided. In dismantling, the slate structure kept retaining its original shape is removed without crushing the slate structure, and transported to a disposal site so that the possibility of scattering is very small.
