PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method and equipment for destroying an existing pile, which shorten the whole operating time because an excavation cycle is short, which facilitate operations for hard ground, which enable large-diameter operations, and which facilitate a removal operation by a hammer grab because all reinforcements can be cut. SOLUTION: In this construction method for destroying the existing pile, the equipment for destroying the existing pile enables a cutter 18 to be freely slid in a vertical direction by a holder 16 which is provided on the inner peripheral surface of a casing head 3b. The holder 16 makes a cutter sliding surface 17 inclined to be protruded from the inside of the casing head 3b depending on the downward movement of the cutter 18. By using the equipment, the casing head 3b aligned with a pile core is rotated and lowered, and the outer periphery of the pile is cut with the cutter 18 which is positioned in the upper part of the holder 16. Subsequently, the casing head 3b is pulled up and rotated in a position to be pulled up, and the reinforcements of the existing pile are cut with the cutter 18 which is positioned in the lower part of the holder 16.
