PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which performs backup or restoration while designating a specific area of a memory of the device using e-mail. SOLUTION: A specific character code described in a received e-mail is analyzed, whereby the memory area of the device is not entirely backed up as in the past, but only a necessary area within the memory area of the device is selectively backed up.
