PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize electric wave from more GPS satellites with a GPS receiver for receiving GPS signal and performing positioning operation, according to the state of the surrounding topography or structures and the state of the arrangement of the GPS satellite. SOLUTION: The GPS receiver comprises an aerial driving mechanism for altering the receiving angle of an aerial based on a driving signal, an aerial drive circuit for supplying the drive signal to the aerial driving mechanism based on a control signal, a high-frequency circuit section for amplifying a signal acquired by receiving the GPS signal with the aerial and converting the frequency of the amplified signal to generate intermediate frequency signal, and a positioning operation control section that demodulates the intermediate frequency signal generated by the high frequency circuit section to generate a baseband signal, performs positioning operation based on the baseband signal, and supplies the control signal for adjusting the reception direction of the aerial based on the receiving state of the GPS signal, to the aerial drive circuit.
