PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding surface cleaning device for handrails of a passenger conveyor capable of cleaning the siding surface of each handrail without provision of any costly electric cleaner. SOLUTION: The sliding surface cleaning device 1 for the handrails of the passenger conveyor is to remove the dust attached to the sliding surface 2A using a cleaner element in slide attachment with the sliding surface 2A of the handrail 2 traveling, wherein the cleaner element consists in a rotary brush 3 in the form of bevel gear for ejecting the dust on the sliding surface 2A of the handrail 2 to outside thereof.
