[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] This digital broadcast receiving apparatus is designed, for example, as a vehicle-mounted apparatus and uses a GPS function to determine a current position. The physical channel information of broadcast stations existing in each of local areas includes a channel list created for that local area. A channel scan is performed, based on broadcast data obtained from a receiving means, for a physical channel registered with an acquired channel list for the local area.
