<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card capable of performing efficient data transfer by compressing data repeatedly transferred between the IC card and a host device. <P>SOLUTION: A data pattern 101 repeatedly transferred between UIM 1 that is the IC card to which the present invention is applied, and the host device is registered in a pattern table 100 of the UIM 1 in association with identification information. A command APDU of a compression command 110 transmitted from the host device to the UIM 1 contains a command APD of an encrypted command in which partial data is substituted by the identification information. The compression command 110 develops the command APDU of the encrypted command 130 contained in a data field to RAM by inserting the data pattern 101 corresponding to the identification information to an appropriate place, and executes the command APDU of the encrypted command 130 developed to the RAM.
