<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a message (character string) in a user interface screen after translating it into other language, while keeping an application program that displays the user interface screen unchanged as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 10 scans the user interface screen and extracts a character string included in the screen.
