<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid golf ball, having enough large carry to be advantageous in a competition, a good feel when hitting, and excellent durability to crack resistance with repeated impact. <P>SOLUTION: This solid golf ball is composed of solid core; and a cover of one or two or more layers which encloses the core, wherein numerous dimples are formed on the surfaces thereof. The solid core has a diameter of 38.7 to 39.6 mm, a deflection hardness of 3.0 to 4.0 mm, the cover has a Shore D hardness of 59 to 70, the number of dimples is 313 to 371, the ball has an initial velocity of at least 76.8 m/s, a coefficient of lift in hitting of at least 0.165 at Reynolds number of 70,000 and with spin rate of 2,000 rpm, a coefficient of drag (CD) in hitting of not more than 0.230 at Reynolds number of 180,000 and a spin rate of 2,520 rpm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
