PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal capable of enhancing complicatedness of mode switching processing and to provide a program used for the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 100 provided with a plurality of keys 30 includes: a contact detection interface 11 for detecting a contact of a user with any of the keys 30; a depression detection interface 12 for detecting the depression of any of the keys 30 by the user; a control section 14 that switches a mode in response to whether or not the user is in contact with a side key 30a, executes a first function assigned to the key 30 when the key 30 is depressed by the user in "shift mode", executes a second function assigned to the depressed key 30 when any of the keys 30 is depressed by the user in an "ordinary mode"; and a display section 20 that displays the explanation associated with the first function assigned to the keys 30 when a contact of the user with any of the keys 30 is detected in the "shift mode".
