<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make shortening of restoration time from a standby state and energy saving compatible for even a user highly frequently using paper sheets other than ordinary paper sheets, by providing standby temperature conditions corresponding to paper type and paper thickness. <P>SOLUTION: A wait timer is turned on after the end of an image forming operation to wait for a time arbitrarily determined by discriminating presence/no presence of a print order, and a fixing temperature target is changed to T0-X in accordance with an elapsed time to reduce the temperature.
