<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lubricity between balls and the pockets of a retainer and prevent the balls from being scratched. <P>SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing a crown type retainer for a rolling ball bearing having the pockets 5 in which the plurality of balls 3 are held between an inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2, the outer peripheral part of a disk material 7 in which recessed parts 8 for pockets are formed is raised by drawing to form an annular member 9 having the recessed parts 8 for pockets in the circumferential direction. The annular member 9 is moved in the axial direction, and the peripheral edge part of the recessed parts 8 for pockets are pressed by a ball-like tool 10 with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the balls 3 to form the pockets 5 in which radial outward spherical recessed walls 6 are formed at the peripheral edges thereof. When the balls 3 are assembled in the pockets 5, the balls 3 abut on the contact parts on the inner side of the outer peripheral edges 12 of the recessed walls 6, and the clearances 15 are formed between the balls 3 and the outer peripheral edges 12 of the recessed walls 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
