PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas leakage alarm unit in which a consumer can accurately discriminate a cutoff event by notifying the consumer of the cutoff event in voice when a cutoff valve is cut off. SOLUTION: In a gas leakage alarm unit, a case body 2 comprises a gas sensor 3, a speaker 4 and an output circuit for cutting off a two-way cutoff valve 15 built into a microcomputer gas meter 9, an alarm is issued from the speaker when the gas sensor 3 detects gas leakage, and an output signal for cutting off the two-way cutoff valve 15 is generated from the output circuit. In the case body 2, a voice storage circuit 19 is provided for storing, by voice, the cutoff event of the two-way cutoff valve 15 built into the microcomputer gas meter 9 and when the two-way cutoff valve 15 is cut off, that cutoff event is notified by voice from the speaker 4.
