PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press driving device with high safety which has a large driving capacity, thus is suitable for a large-sized press, and further, has satisfactory balancing in a slide, and, in which, even in case the trouble of a controller and the failure of a control soft are generated, the generation of troubles such as the failure of a frame and a die can be evaded. SOLUTION: The driving device for elevating/lowering a slide confronted with a bed comprises: a rotating shaft symmetrically having a right screw part and a left screw part, and in which an intermediate part is fixed to a reduction gear; a servomotor of driving the reduction gear; right and left moving bodies installed in the parts corresponding to the right screw part and the left screw part and advancing side by side by the rotation of the respective screw parts; and a tuning stem having a driven gear engaged with the reduction gear, and elongating to a direction orthogonal to the rotating shaft.
