An image projection device includes a light source for outputting a laser light and a mirror unit for reflecting and projecting the laser light outputted from the light source. An image is displayed by at least a part of the laser light projected. The image projection device further includes a detection unit for detecting at least a part of the laser light returning from the laser light projection direction and a calculation unit for deciding an image display-enabled region according to the light detected. The mirror unit reflects at least a part of the laser light returning from the laser light projection direction so as to introduce it into the detection unit.
