The backrest has two backrest parts (2, 4), in which the backrest part (4) is foldable. The backrest part (4) is locked with a locking unit of the backrest part (2) in a detachable manner by using a locking mechanism. The locking unit is designed as a stowable locking bolt (6) and projects from the backrest part (2) into a free area in a functioning position when the backrest part (4) is folded. The locking bolt has a bolt shaft with parts that are connected with one another in a flexible manner by using two hinges.
