PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an effective speed by the completion of auto-focusing which is given to a user, with respect to an electronic camera. SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes; a first report means for reporting the completion of operation of an auto-focusing means; an automatic exposure adjustment means which performs adjustment of exposure after the completion of operation of the auto-focusing means and performs photometry using an imaging device as photometry for confirmation before photographing to confirm that a desired exposure can be obtained when photographing; a second report means for reporting the completion of operation of an automatic exposure adjustment means; a determination means which detects the exposure before the operation start of the first report means and determines whether an exposure time in the photometry for confirmation is longer than a preliminarily set reference time or not on the basis of the detected exposure; and a report control means which inhibits operation of the first report means till the completion of operation of the automatic exposure adjustment means in determining that the exposure time in the photometry for confirmation is longer than the reference time and operates the first report means independently of the completion of operation of the automatic exposure adjustment means in determining that it is not longer than the reference time.
