PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of realizing the excellent ability to intercept light around a projection lens and protecting the projection lens from impact. SOLUTION: The projector includes: the projection lens 3 having a lens and a lens barrel 31; and a projecting position adjustment device 8. In the projector, a front case 23 has an opening 231 for exposing the projection lens 3. A movement restricting mechanism 10 is disposed between the lens barrel 31 and the internal face of the front case 23 in which the opening 231 is made. The movement restricting mechanism 10 has: a base plate 11 fixed to the peripheral edge of the opening 231, and extending along a flat face surrounding the opening 231 and perpendicular to a projecting direction; a flange ring 12 fixed to the peripheral face of the lens barrel 31 and extending outward from the peripheral face, and interfering with at least the base plate 11 in a plain in the projecting direction; and a cushion ring 13 disposed between the base plate 11 and the flange ring 12.
